The UAP CBD Chapter was founded on December 10, 1983 by a group of young architects led by Ar. Mario Arturo V. Lising, UAP which began roundtable discussions that would strengthen the architecture profession and foster camaraderie among Filipino architects. One of the highlights of this formative period was the advent of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) which used to be one of the programs for Continuing Professional Education. As pioneers in the industry, it can then be said that these founding fathers of the chapter has played a vital role in merging technology and the practice of architecture in the country.

Widely regarded as the first breakaway group from the original UAP Makati Chapter, it is quite interesting that UAP CBD Chapter paved the way in forming other UAP Chapters concentrated in the south of Metro Manila, namely UAP Parañaque Palanyag, UAP Makati Greenbelt, and UAP Alabang.

The UAP CBD Chapter has won several awards, including 5 Best Chapter Awards (1998, 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2004) which enabled the chapter to reach the Hall of Fame.
