2025 March GMM – Fire Safety Design for Architects
In observance of Fire Prevention Month, UAP Makati CBD Chapter held its 9th General Membership Meeting with a lecture seminar titled “FIRE SAFETY DESIGN FOR ARCHITECTS: A Comprehensive Approach to Design, Systems, and Compliance” on March 21, 2025, at the Nexus Centre in Makati City.
Mr John Cha, Regional Technical Manager of Promat Asia, discussed various fire safety concepts while Engr. Azel Joquino, Senior Technical Engineer of WarringtonFire (Element), talked about third-party certifications of passive fire protection products, and lastly, Mr Errol Malapitan, Technical Sales Head of Rockwool Philippines, tackled the significance of insulation to fire safety systems. SKB also conducted a product presentation on their shutters.
Another significant part of the program was the presentation of the newly elected chapter officers for the coming fiscal year by the Chapter COMELEC.
The chapter gave appreciation to the event’s industry partner Kent International Trading Co., Inc. (KITCI) for their generous support for the event.
Meanwhile, aspirants for the position of National President, Ar. Joey Manalad, National Executive Vice President, Ar. Chona Ponce and National Treasurer, Ar. Mark Soriquez also visited to present their platforms and strategic plans for the fiscal year 2025-2026.
A total of 70 participants joined the CPD seminar and had an in-depth understanding and appreciation in regards to fire protection systems and implementation.
